Rabbi Mordechai Suchard
The son of a rabbi and judge on the prestigious Johannesburg Beth Din, Rabbi Suchard studied in the academies of Telz, Cleveland and Ponevesz, Israel. He received rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbi and Dean of the Beth Din of Jerusalem. After completing his studies, Rabbi Suchard founded and served as director of the Anglo Saxon division of Arachim, Israel. As the realization of a dream, Rabbi Suchard arrived in America and founded Gateways in January 1998, where he has served as Director since its inception.

Rabbi Jonathan Shippel
A native of South Africa, Rabbi Shippel is a graduate of Columbia University, NY and Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore. He holds a Masters degree in Judaic Studies. After receiving his Rabbinical Ordination in Jerusalem, Rabbi Shippel founded and directed Ohr Somayach, Cape Town, SA. He built a Jewish Learning Center, a vibrant congregation and a Jewish Day School. Rabbi Shippel joined Gateways in 2005 and is currently a Senior Lecturer.

Mrs. Chavy Becher
Mrs. Becher graduated summa cum laude from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and teaching certification in English literature. She obtained a teaching degree in Jewish Studies from Teacher’s Institute for Women at Yeshiva University and received her MA (Hons.) in Education from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Mrs. Becher has lectured in Australia, Israel, Canada and Russia.

Rabbi Mordechai Becher
Originally from Australia, Rabbi Becher, is Senior Lecturer for Gateways. He lectured at Ohr Somayach College in Jerusalem for 15 years, served in the Israel Defense Forces and taught in training programs for rabbis and educators. Rabbi Becher received his rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He has co-authored two books on contemporary issues in Jewish law and has responded to thousands of legal, ethical and philosophical questions on the Ohr Somayach “Ask the Rabbi” website. His latest book, Gateway to Judaism, was recently published by Artscroll-Mesorah Press.

Rabbi Yitzchok Feldheim
Rabbi Feldheim is spiritual leader of Knesset Hasefer, a Synagogue in Yardley, PA. He is the founder of a thriving adult Jewish education center and a new Jewish high school in Bucks County. Rabbi Yehoshua Kohl
Originally from California, Rabbi Kohl brings to Gateways a diverse background in Jewish Education. After years of Rabbinic studies both in Israel and the United States, he founded and directed a family Jewish learning center in Los Angeles, and served as Rabbi and Educational Director for Aish HaTorah in Philadelphia. As the American Director of TKAS Parenting Seminars, Rabbi Kohl has trained parents and educators throughout the United States. He and his wife Aviva, an accomplished Jewish educator and psychotherapist, now direct the Education Division for Gateways.

Rabbi David Ordman
A native of England, Rabbi Ordman acquired his higher Jewish education at the Talmudical Colleges of Gateshead and Manchester. Rabbi Ordman is a senior lecturer for Gateways and Arachim and is known internationally as a dynamic Judaic studies teacher from Hong Kong in the East to Los Angeles in the West.

Dr. Chaim Presby
A Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories for over 25 years Dr. Presby led the Research and Development in photonic applications. As Research Architect for Terabeam, Dr. Presby holds over 200 patents in Optical Fiber Technologies, and has published over 150 articles in leading scientific journals.

Mrs. Chaya Reich
Mrs. Reich is the Cofounder and CEO of a computer mail order company. Previously, she founded and operated a specialty jewelry design and manufacturing company. She is a certified Jewish Marriage Educational Counselor and is sought after as a speaker on marriage, relationships & the role of women in Judaism to audiences throughout America.

He has a Masters Degree in Education and has practiced as an Educational Consultant to schools and parents for twenty years.

Rabbi Yisroel Cherns
Rabbi Yisroel Cherns is the Director of Special Projects for Gateways. With a professional background in both organizational development and administration, as well as corporate finance, Rabbi Cherns coordinates the Gateways Torah Campaign, as well as the Pillars of Gateways program. Additionally, Rabbi Cherns and his wife, Ahuva, coordinate the Gateways singles programming and are heavily involved in helping young adults in the establishment of their Jewish homes.

Mrs. Aviva Kohl
Mrs. Aviva Kohl is the Director of Continuing Education for Gateways. A Certified Clinical Social Worker with years of both educational and counseling experience, she excels at working with individuals, couples, and families who have attended Gateways programs, helping them find the optimal Jewish opportunities for their ongoing growth.

Dr. Robyn Fischer
Robyn Fischer, originally from South Africa has been part of Gateways since its
inception. She has served in various capacities for the organization,
and has been instrumental in creating and coordinating many of the programs and
follow-up for adults, college students and children.
Presently, Robyn serves as the Liaison for the different Divisions within Gateways,
and functions primarily as senior advisor and assistant to the director.
Robyn holds a Ph. D in Psychology. Before joining Gateways, she worked as an
educator, researcher and consulting school psychologist for various academic and
private institutions.

Rabbi Avrumy Jordan
A graduate of Ohr Lagolah, Rabbinical training program in Jerusalem, Rabbi Avrumy Jordan, serves as Director of Operations for Gateways. Born in Australia, Rabbi Jordan is also an accomplished cantor. He received his Rabbinical Ordination from the Beth Din of Jerusalem.
